Physical Security Upgrade

The subject project was a Design-Build type package awarded to Emta Inc. / Turkey. Altan Ltd. Co is responsible from the Site Investigations, Topographical Survey and generation of the complete design package including the drawings, specifications and reports in Civil, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical disciplines.

The aim of the project was to upgrade the existing physical security of the American Embassy in Damascus / Syria. The project included the construction of various facilities and upgrading of existing facilities as outlined below:

• New Compound access control CAC facilities consisting of:
    1. Consular CAC
    2. Pedestrian and Vehicular CAC
    3. Pedestrian CAC

• Perimeter Walls and Fences
• Various fixed Bollards
• Active Anti-Ram Bollards
• Hardline walls (Forced Entry FE) or Forced Entry and Ballistic Resistant Construction.
• Forced Entry (FE) and Forced Entry / Ballistic Resistant FE/BR Doors, Windows, Hatches and Louvers.
• Forced Entry (FE) Grilles
• Non FE/BR Windows; Shatter Resistant Window Film
• Renovation of Consular Interior Public Section

As well as the above outlined work items existing and new site utilities were designed to be re-routed, replaced or repaired according to the new requirements brought as a result of new constructions and site improvements.
