Temporary Compound Housing Phase II

The aim of the project was to provide design and construction services to provide 68 each additional temporary housing units for the U.S Diplomatic Mission in Islamabad / Pakistan. In order to avail the construction of the additional houses, existing Softball Field was re-located, new water storage, power generation facilities were designed to support the additional loads that would be brought by the new houses of temporary compound housing and supporting utilities. The outlines of the major works of the engineering disciplines are as follows:

Civil: The civil works covered the excavation / filling works, construction of foundations of additional Temporary Housing Units, elevated walkways, installation of sanitary sewer, storm drainage, water distribution lines, construction of manholes, handholes, catchbasins, access stairs, domestic and fire water storage tanks, pump rooms, construction of equipment pads, storm drainage structures and construction of graded crushed aggregate access roads and service yards.

Architectural: Architectural works covered the installation / construction of 68 each Pre-Fabricated Temporary Housing Units, Laundry, Service Facilities, as well as the installation of elevated walkways, first floor access stairs and furnitures of the additional Housing Units.

Structural: Structural works covered the construction of the steel structure of the elevated walkways and their roofing system.

Mechanical: Installation of heat pump units of the additional 68 each Temporary Housing Units, wet and dry pipe type sprinkler systems, domestic hot and cold water systems including tankless water heaters, and waste water lines were covered by the mechanical discipline of the project.

Electrical: Electrical works covered the installation of an additional generator to the Prime Power Plant, construction and installation of additional power distribution system, interior and exterior electrical works including lighting, power, fire alarm and communication including Voice, Data and TV systems.
