The intent of the project was to conduct a Structural Survey for a Reinforced Concrete partly Prefabricated Building, Bldg #877 (Commissary) in Incirlik AB, in accordance with the latest US and Turkish regulations that are applicable. The report for a Structural Survey was submitted including Facility Inspections, General Observations, Solutions, Recommendations and Database. The survey included the following as a minimum:
1. The structural drawings of the building were not available; therefore, the facility was visited and necessary information were gathered to prepare structural drawings and modeling of the existing facility. Confirmation of the information and providing all other missing details and dimensions for conducting the study were under the designer’s responsibility.
2. Reinforced Concrete Prefabricated Building survey was conducted according to the “Specification for Structures to be Built in Disaster Areas, 2016, (or latest edition)” with all related parts at “Section15” with “Comprehensive Knowledge Level for Concrete Prefabricated Buildings” including Section 15.2.9 for the tests and determinations, and Section 15.5 for the analysis, results, recommendations, etc.
3. Building structural plans, sections and elevations are prepared in the scale of 1/100. These drawings showed the existing structural system including possible structural problem locations, cracks and settlements.
4. A structural analysis report is prepared (c/w photographs), it included inputs, outputs, results, conclusions and recommendations about whether the building is safe to inhabit. Detail drawings are prepared to recommend new seismic solutions to strengthen the load bearing members such as gussets, steel members etc. IAW “Specification for Structures to be Built in Disaster Areas, 2016, Section 15.9 and Section 15.10”.
