FY 17 Airfield Fire / Crash Rescue Station

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The aim of the project was to provide multi-disciplined A-E services for the development of a Project Definition Report, a Draft Cost Estimate, Preliminary Design Package and a Design-Build solicitation package in accordance with USACE criteria for the Airfield Fire and Crash Rescue Facility.

During the generation of the design package and the project Definition Report various site visits were conducted, meetings were held with the authorities of the Base Fire Department, in order to gather information about present and future requirements of the User as well as information regarding fire fighting and supporting equipment. A-E services also covered the preparation of preliminary design package for the construction of temporary facilities for the Base Fire Department during the construction of the new FCRS.

The preliminary drawings of the building have been prepared to house spaces for Office & Admin Activities, Personnel Lodging, Training / Fitness Activities, Storage and Maintenance activities and necessary bays for Fire Fighting Equipment. Each vehicle bay of the building has been designed to house the largest vehicle which is ARFF Truck-Striker.
