PHASE 2
Work consisted of the master planning, design and construction (Design-Build) of all facilities for the relocation of Kabul Consolidated Compound. It included all site work, utilities, site improvements, storm drain system, roads, parking, walkways, compound lighting and upgrading entry control necessary for a fully functional compound.
Major features of work included the following areas Administrative Office Space (11.004 m²). General Administrative Space (4.402 m²), Billeting Space (6.774 m²) and a Dining Facility (1.190 m²).
The project also included the construction of new utilities consisting of electric generators, generator fuel storage, water well, water storage, water treatment and distribution system, and waste water collection / treatment system and Road and Parking construction (bituminous surface). All site development and facilities were designed to comply with Antiterrorism and Force Protection standards.
PHASE 3
The aim of the project was to construct an Unaccompanied Officer’s Quarters building an Administrative/Service Support Building, an Expansion to the existing Dining Facility, a Vehicle Maintenance Shop and improvement of the existing power generation system to meet the new electrical load requirements brought by the new facilities. The project included the construction of pre-detoniation roofs on new Billeting, Admin, Dining Facilities and site improvements in order to integrate the new infrastructure to the existing that is in service. The Unaccompanied Officers Quarter Building was designed as an approximately 6152 m², four storey reinforced concrete structure to house 378 military personnel. The Admin / Service Support Building was approximately 6350 m² reinforced concrete structure consisting of totally four storeys. The Billeting and Admin Facilities were connected to each other and consisted of basement, first, second and third floors. The project was a Design – Build type package and Zafer Inc. was the construction contractor where Altan Ltd. Co. worked as a subcontractor of Zafer responsible from the whole design and engineering services.
