NATURE OF WORK:

The aim of the project was to provide an adequate facility to house the Close Defense Area Headquarters, Base Defense Operations Center, Armory, Guard Mount and Assembly Area and associated Security Police Offices. The facility was designed to be a new 1600 square meters building to house two separate functions as “Base Defense Operations Center” and ” Armory”. The base Defense Operations Center is a splinter protected semi hardened structure with partial chemical and biological protection. The Armory section is a reinforced concrete structure with reinforced concrete exterior walls that is complete with all supporting facilities.

The semi hardened portion of the building provides areas for different administrative functions, various spaces for decontamination purposes, clean and dirty mechanical rooms and other facilities as required. The Armory section consists of a Guard Mounting area, Lockers, Bath Rooms, Munition and Light Weapon Storage Vaults and other supporting spaces. Although the facility gives the view of a single building, there are two separate buildings that have completely different functions, mechanical-electrical systems and architectural-structural solutions.
