PROJECT NO. IX TITLE AND LOCATION: FIRE TRAINING FACILITY The purpose of the project is to provide an adequate facility for the fire fighters of Incirlik Air Base to maintain a high level of proficiency. The project covers the construction of a double high density polyethylene (HDPE) lined, and environmentally acceptable, gravel covered fire training pit 46 meters in diameter including a high temparature resistant mock up aircraft having 15 LPG (Liquid Propane Gas) burners at various locations and water sprinkler system. A LPG system consisting of a 9,25 gallon aboveground tank, fill stand, necessary gauges, valves, connections, piping, cathodic protection system and reinforced concrete supports are provided. The project covered the construction of a double HDPE lined water conservation pond with a manual water level system, a sump pump, all required electrical – plumbing connections, and a perimeter security fence. The subject project includes an elevated, steel structure control tower equipped with manual cut-off switches for all burners, controls for igniters, sprinklers, water circulation etc. The tower is complete with a strobe light, lightning protection system, and a speaker system for quick information, dispersal to trainees. A reinforced concrete turning apron around the pit is constructed for the vehicles of the fire department. A leak detection systems for the fire training pit, utility trench and the water conservation pond are provided for the facility. |
